Robbers strike at will on city roads
Chandigarh, January 31
A gang of four or five auto-rickshaw thieves struck last night and created havoc in the city, targeting four city residents and fleeing away with cash after beating them up. The gang forcibly took away an auto-rickshaw from near the Piccadily roundabout in Sector 34 and committed three snatchings using it by robbing passengers and pedestrians. A red-faced UT police failed to even register a case in two of the four incidents that were reported.

Police get lead in murder case
Dera bassi, January 31
The police claim to have identified the accused involved in the murder of Mohammad Nayish, an employee of a meat plant, who was found murdered in his house on Thursday morning. According to police sources, a contractor of animals is the main accused. Police said money seems to be the main purpose behind the murder. However, police had not revealed the identity of the alleged accused. The police sources said accused was in contact with the victim.
