HC quashes selection of PROs: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday quashed the selection of Information and Public Relation Officers that had been made in July 2011. Setting aside the selection process, Justice Rajesh Bindal directed the State of Punjab to re-cast the merit list after ignoring five additional marks awarded to the candidates for qualification of Middle and Matriculation examination.Budget session from Mar 3:
The Punjab Vidhan Sabha's Budget Session will be held from March 3 to March 10. The government will be presenting a vote on account during the session.
Since the model code of conduct will be in place, the government will not present its Budget in March. It will be presented in June after the formation of a new government at the
Centre.

Habit-forming drugs seized
The Health Department today conducted a raid at Aviv Pharma Agency at Khud
Mohalla. The team led by drug inspector Sukhbir Singh seized 43,000 habit-forming drugs worth Rs 56,000 as the owner failed to
produce the purchase record.
Ropar
13 cows rescued:
The district police rescued 13 cows being ferried to a slaughterhouse at Saharanpur here on Friday. The accused were identified as Mansoor of Saharnpur, Furkan of Yamuna Nagar and Roshan. The accused, however, fled when they were signalled to stop at the Ghanauli barrier. The accused opened fire when they were chased by the police.
