A day after the release of pre-poll surveys of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Delhi Congress unit rubbished them as baseless which have no relevance at all. The BJP and other parties have nothing to do with development that is solely the agenda of the Congress, said its party members.

Addressing a press conference, UD Minister Arvinder Singh stated that the BJP state president has become a victim of frustration as party leaders are fighting over the issue of the Chief Minister's candidature.

"The BJP and other parties are conducting pre-poll surveys. For the past 15 years, we have been in power. We maintain a five-year contract with the public of Delhi," he added.

Attacking the BJP, Power Minister Haroon Yusuf said the BJP is used to making false allegations pertaining to the shortage of water and power.

"Whatever people decide on December 4 will be acceptable to us," he added, urging them to understand the motive behind the surveys.

PWD Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan today made it clear that the BJP cannot change people's mindset just by producing fake data which claims that a sum of Rs 70,000 crore was spent on the Commonwealth Games. The minister clarified that the CAG report submitted to Parliament states that the total budget was Rs 18,532 crore and the total amount spent by the Delhi Government was around Rs 7,800 crore during three years (2007-2010).

The poster war between different political groups at the rear of autorickshaws in the city will be back soon as the Delhi Electoral Office has lifted the ban on using the three-wheelers for advertisements.

The innovative campaigning which was objected to by all the authorities, including the state government and the Delhi Police, has finally been given green signal by the electoral office.

Earlier, the campaign through the popular mode of transport had hit a roadblock as the Chief Electoral Office (CEO) had invoked the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 2007, prompting the driver to remove the advertisements.

The Delhi Government had also issued orders to prohibit advertisements and posters on autorickshaws, which later came under stay by the Delhi High Court.

"There will be no restriction on putting posters at the back of autorickshaws," said Vijay Dev, Chief Electoral Officer.

However, Dev said the expenses in the form of publicity charges earned by the owners of autorickshaws will be added to the party candidate's expenditure account.
