SSP pulls up DSP for providing misleading info

UT Deputy Superintendent of Police (South Division) Surjit Malik is in the dock for providing misleading and false information to a query under the RTI Act. In a scathing order, UT SSP Naunihal Singh, who is the appellate authority under the RTI Act, has reprimanded the DSP for providing misleading information and ordered him to supply correct and factual information pertaining to a case.

Railway station a picture of neglect

The portion of the city railway station falling on the Panchkula side is a picture of neglect. It has always got a "stepmotherly treatment" from the authorities. Although a number of proposals have been mooted by the authorities for this side, no project has seen the light of day.

Topographical gradient or slope of the city is towards southern sectors and these sectors are receiving canal water for drinking as well as secondary purposes and groundwater is not being exploited, resulting in the rise of water table due to natural recharge.
