Woman dies of snake bite: Satya Devi of Teehara village under Badgaon panchayat was bitten by a snake when she was returning home from her fields on Monday evening. Satya was rushed to nearby Barthin Community Health Centre, from where she was shifted to the Regional Hospital here and then to the IGMC, Shimla, where she died on Tuesday.

ADC raids illegal mining site: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Himanshu Shekhar Chaudhary on Tuesday raided Man Khad under Nadaun sub-division to check illegal mining. Two JCB machines and two tractors allegedly involved in illegal mining were impounded. Deputy Commissioner Ashish Singhmar said, “The raid was conducted on the basis of a complaint and strict action will be taken against those involved in illegal mining.”

Biker killed in road accident:
Vikrant Thakur (24), who was riding a Honda bike (HP-12-C-0528), was killed on the spot in a road accident at Kandaghat on Tuesday. He was avoiding a vehicle coming from the opposite side, but fell off his bike and received head injuries. The SHO of Kandaghat said the deceased hailed from Solan and was working in a private firm here.
