Rao Inderjit’s manch forges alliance with Vanchit Varg Samiti
Yamunanagar, March 25 Speaking to The Tribune over the phone, Rao Inderjit Singh said the alliance had been formed as both organisations shared a common point of view on development in the state. Rao said the idea was to ensure that none remained bereft of the benefits of development. Roshan Lal Arya, who served as chairman of the Haryana Seed Development Corporation during the Hooda regime, asserted that the two organisations had come together to fight for the cause of all sections of society. Immediately after announcing the alliance, Arya went ahead stating that a number of leaders from various political parties had also extended support for the cause. Arya said the alliance had been forged to fight against ‘complete anarchy’ in Haryana. Alleging poor law and order in the state, Arya said more than five murders and as many rapes were being reported from different parts of the state daily. Speaking about ‘disparity in development works’, Arya claimed growth was restricted to Rohtak, Jhajjar and Sonepat districts. Demanding a white paper on government’ performance, Arya said meritorious candidates had been ignored in government jobs due to regional and caste biases. He charged the state government with patronising the Jat agitation for reservation. The development with far-reaching political ramifications came in the backdrop of the Chief Minister addressing rallies in various parts of the state to take on his detractors and assuring people that uniform development was the order of the day. Rao Inderjit Singh had formed the Haryana Insaaf Manch recently to take on the alleged regional bias in the state’s development. |

Soon, quick power connections for colonies, apartments
Chandigarh, March 25 The Electricity Department, while coming up with a new policy for the approval of the electrification plan and sanctioning of electricity load for the private colonisers and developers of the special economic zones (SEZs), has devolved the powers to sanction these plans. Now, the electrification plans and sanctioning of the load will be done by the Director (Operation Circle) and not the Chief Engineer concerned as earlier. Currently, as per the 2011 policy, the electrification plan for load up to 2,000 KVA for colonies and multi-storey buildings developed by colonisers is approved by the Chief Engineer (Operation Circle) concerned. For the load exceeding 2,000 KVA for colonies and multi-storey buildings, the plan is approved by the Chief Engineer (Commercial). Both Chief Engineers concerned ordered the sanctioning of the electricity load after scrutiny of the case by the committee of Executive Engineer (Xen) (Commercial) and Xen (Power and Distribution). “In order to avoid delay, the management has reviewed the matter and decided that henceforth all electrification plans of mutli-storey buildings and colonies developed by the private colonisers irrespective of their load shall be approved by the Director (Operation Circle). He will issue orders after scrutinising the case by the committee of Xen (Commercial) Xen (Power
and Distribution),” the new policy said.
