Scuffle among neighbours claims life of old woman
Tarn Taran, January 13
A quarrel among neighbours, in a border village Khalra, on the occasion of Lohri, the last evening, claimed the life of an old-aged woman, Parkash Kaur (55) and left injured her nephew Jugraj Singh (18). The Khalra police has registered a case under Section 302, 323, 34 of the IPC, against three persons of the same village .

Body of newborn baby girl found
Nawanshahr, January 13
The body of a newborn baby girl was found abandoned in the bushes of a canal near Bhangal Kalan here this morning. The abandoned baby was seen by a resident of nearby Church Colony at about 7 a.m.

Scuffle among neighbours claims life of old woman

Tarn Taran, January 13
A quarrel among neighbours, in a border village Khalra, on the occasion of Lohri, the last evening, claimed the life of an old-aged woman, Parkash Kaur (55) and left injured her nephew Jugraj Singh (18).

The Khalra police has registered a case under Section 302, 323, 34 of the IPC, against three persons of the same village.

The accused have been identified as, Gujjar Singh alias Mota Singh, Pappu Singh and Kala Singh. Kala Singh, one of the accused, has been arrested while the remaining two are absconding .

The police said that on the Lohri festival, last evening the accused were flying kites with the high volume of DJ and were also raising hue and cry at the roof-top of their house .

Their neighbourer, Parkash Kaur and her other family members, objected to it and requested them, to stop making much noise.

The accused in a fit of anger started pelting stones towards Parkash Kaur and her family members . While Prakash Kaur was trying to escape from stone, she fell from the the roof. Jugraj Singh was also hit with stones and received injuries.

Both Parkash kaur and Jugraj Singh were admitted to the Mini Primary Health Centre , Sursing.

Later on, Parkash kaur because of critical condition, was referred to Guru Nanak Hospital, Amritsar, where she died this morning.

Paramjit Singh, SHO ,Khalra, said that a report regarding the quarrel was lodged in the daily diary report (DDR) last night, which had been converted into an FIR with Sections 302, 323, 34 of the IPC, today.

Body of newborn baby girl found

Nawanshahr, January 13
The body of a newborn baby girl was found abandoned in the bushes of a canal near Bhangal Kalan here this morning.

The abandoned baby was seen by a resident of nearby Church Colony at about 7 a.m.

He informed the police about it. The police reached the site and recovered the baby and took stock of the evidence there.

A case was registered at the city police station in this regard.

The police is investigating the matter.
