Woman’s body found

Hoshiarpur, December 6
The body of Manpreet Kaur (25), daughter of Kapur Singh of Subhanpur village (Chabbewal), was found near Bhagora crossing on the Hoshiarpur-Chandigarh road near Mahilpur this morning.

Paramjit Singh, Station House Officer (SHO), Mahilpur police station, said Manpreet left her house yesterday evening to attend the engagement party of her friend but did not return. Her body with injury marks on the head was found in the morning, he said. A case has been registered.

Woman killed in accident

Nawanshahr, December 6
Rani, wife of Prem Pal of Rurki Khas village, was killed when the Activa scooter she was riding along with her husband was allegedlly hit by a mini-bus near Ambedkar Chowk here today. The driver of the bus fled. The police has registered a case under Sections 279 , 304-A, 427 of the IPC. — OC
