Surjit Hockey Society releases
sports calendar

Budding hockey players in sub-junior and junior wings would be trained at special coaching camps, said Priyank Bharti, president of Surjit Hockey Society and Deputy Commissioner, while releasing the sports calendar of the society. The DC laid emphasis on the training of the sub-junior and junior wing players. As per the sports calendar, U-14 sub-junior hockey coaching camp for girls would be held till June 15 at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Nehru Garden, and U-17 junior hockey coaching camp for boys would be held from June 10 to 25 at Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium.

Senior hockey coaching camp for girls would be held from June 15 to 30 at Lyallpur Khalsa College while U-14 and U-17 hockey coaching camp for boys would be held at hockey stadium, Kapurthala.



EARLIER STORIES

The first general house meeting of the society would be held in the first week of August; a hockey match of girls between International and Punjab XI would be held on August 29 on National Sports Day at Surjit Hockey Stadium.

Similarly, the annual 29th Olympian Surjit Hockey tournament would be held from October 11 to 19, cultural programme would be held on October 19. On October 18, a seminar of hockey umpires would be held.

Distribution of scholarships and sports kits to the players would be held in the first week of November and December respectively. A function in the memory of Olympian Surjit Singh Randhawa would be held on February 7 at Hans Raj Stadium, Surjit Hockey tournament (Women) would be held from January 10 to 14, 2013.
