Punjab Agricultural University experts are disappointed that the state has been ignored by the Finance Minister. Apart from the increase in the loan limit for farmers, there is nothing much for the agriculture sector. Ludhiana’s cycle industry, is relieved that the customs duty on imports from China has gone up.

Chief Minister PK Dhumal said the Budget had disappointed every section of society as no efforts had been made to reduce the galloping prices and rather than giving relief it had burdened the poor man further. He termed it anti-people, anti-poor, anti-farmers, anti-employees.

Hailing the decision on allocation of Rs 50 crore as grant to Chaudhary Charan Singh Agricultural University at Hisar, Vice-Chancellor Dr KS Khokhar said the fund would be spent on research. Dr Khokhar said the university would utilise it on research.
