Octogenarian foils snatching bid

An octogenarian grave a brave fight to snatchers and after a brief scuffle, he forced them to return empty handed. The octogenarian, identified as Mohan Lal Maini, a resident of New Harbans Nagar, said that when he went out for a walk in JP Nagar, he encountered some youths.

“When I was returning home, two motorcycle-borne youths stopped their vehicle in front of me. Within no time, one of them tried to cut my gold bracelet.

Mohan Lal Maini also received bruises during a scuffle with the snatchers. He, however, managed to snatch their iron cutter and forced them to run away.

Meanwhile, people gathered on the spot and informed the police.

When contacted, the police officials concerned said no case had been registered as no snatching took place.
