Youths snatch Rs 7 lakh from dairy worker

In yet another incident of snatching, two motorcycle-borne youths snatched Rs 7 lakh from an employee of a dairy in Dashmesh Nagar near the Gill Road here today.

A task force constituted by the Civil Surgeon, Dr Subhash Batta, today raided Mr Beans Hukkah Bar at Sarabha Nagar and challaned 25 youngsters and fined them Rs 200 each under the Tobacco Product Act for smoking “hukkah”.

Ludhiana, February 22
The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation (MC) might seal the Ludhiana Bus Stand in the next couple of days due to the non-payment of house tax worth around Rs 1.67 crore. The tax is to be paid by a private company managing the bus stand and has been due for the last three years. An MC team today visited the bus stand and warned company officials to pay the pending amount, failing which the bus stand would be sealed.

The lone Delhi-Ludhiana flight, which was operating continuously since February 8, seems to have stuck a rough patch as the flight has been cancelled for two consecutive days- on Monday and today. Air India officials say that the weather played the spoilsport.

There is a general practice in hospitals and clinics that when a patient starts showing signs of recovery or begins to feel restless, the same intravenous fluid (IVF) needle is injected again after a break of a few hours. But it is not the right thing to do as the patient can become susceptible to infection due to the needle coming in contact with air.

It was based on the theme of jungle. The theme was depicted in forms of dances, skits and items giving social message like love animals, love nature etc. The tiny tots presented a colourful cultural programme, which showcased their talent. They began the show with prayers. The programme moved towards various activities that the kids enjoy and learn in play school.

Thieves target house of physically challenged
Ludhiana, February 22
The thieves did not spare the house physically challanged couple in Issa Nagri near the Civil Hospital. The matter came to light here this morning when Prem Maseeh and Kamlesh Maseeh told the police that the thieves struck at their house and decamped with LCD, gold jewellery, cooking gas cylinder and Rs 8,000 cash.
