Car lifters’ gang busted, three arrested

The local police said today it had busted an interstate gang of car lifters today, recovering 21 cars and two wheelers that had been stolen from its possession. Ambala SP Bharti Arora said three residents of Ambala Cantt had been arrested.
4 held for forgery, possessing fake DTO stamps

An irate mob of shopkeepers here today blocked traffic on Patiala- Rajpura road for almost three hours.
They were protesting against a raid by a team of municipal corporation that had come to seal the sawmill at Hira Bagh area.

A sambar was found dead on the Ludhiana-Chandigarh road yesterday. The animal was hit by a speeding truck near Todarpur village on the highway and it died on the spot.

Motorcyclist killed in road mishap

A 24-year-old motorcyclist was killed after he rammed his speeding motorcycle into Kajheri Chowk here today.
He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the mishap, said the police. The victim Pardeep Singh, originally hailing from Amritsar was staying in a rented accommodation in Mohali and was taking private caching to go abroad.
