Car bazaar to be shifted to Hallo Majra

A piece of around 5 acres in Hallo Majra has been earmarked for shifting the Sunday Car bazaar from Sector 7 here. This was decided at a meeting held today under the chairmanship of UT Finance Secretary Sanjay Kumar.

Motorcyclist killed in road mishap
Chandigarh, December 2
A 24-year-old motorcyclist was killed after he rammed his speeding motorcycle into Kajheri Chowk here today. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the mishap, said the police. The victim Pardeep Singh, originally hailing from Amritsar was staying in a rented accommodation in Mohali and was taking private caching to go abroad.

Man attempts suicide; held
Chandigarh, December 2
A resident of Sector 46 allegedly attempted to kill himself by setting himself afire at his residence here last night. The police said UK Dulai, a clerk in the Air Force, had a dispute with his wife and tried to set himself afire.
