Tax evasion worth crores detected; 17 premises searched

In a drive for uncovering the undeclared wealth, officials of the Income Tax Department conducted raids on more than seven premises that included chemist and garment shops, liquor vends and residences of well-known businessman, Kumar Brothers, Sector 11, in the tricity today.

Mohali SDM gets stay on transfer
‘Unseats’ recently posted SDM

A high drama prevailed at the district administrative complex here this evening when PCS officer, Balbir Singh, who was recently posted as SDM, Mohali, was “unseated” by his previous incumbent Raghbir Kaur Khera, who got a stay on her transfer from the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
