Three nabbed for killing youth

With the arrest of three youths, the city police claims to have cracked the blind murder case of a youth whose body was found from fields of Katani village on July 30.The accused have been identified as Gurnderpal Singh, alias
Gaggi, Narinderpal Singh, alias Shakti, and Jaspreet Singh, alias Batta, all in their mid-20 are residents of Katani village.The SSP said the trio killed Gurinder Singh (19) and threw his body in the fields. They, in order to destroy the evidence, also threw the motorcycle of Gurinder into Doraha river.

Security outside temples upped
Ludhiana, August 29
Keeping in view the need of stepping up security near religious places, the District Magistrate has directed the Senior Superintendent of Police to take necessary steps. The direction comes in the wake of the Punjab and Haryana High Court’s orders following a writ petition filed by Dinesh Goel, a local resident, who moved the court to direct the police department to step up security outside Luxmi Narayan Mandir, Durga Mata Mandir and Sita Mata Mandir.
Budha Nullah: Solid waste being dumped despite

Besides being used for draining the sewers and industrial effluents, solid waste continues to be dumped into the Budha Nullah in different parts of the city.Despite the Punjab and Haryana High Court’s orders directing local authorities not to throw garbage and subsequent orders of the district magistrate to ban the practice, people continue to throw litter into the water body and authorities sleep.
