Addressing mediapersons here today, Jagjit said his family was thrown out of the rented accommodation in the Chowk Parag Das area about 15 days back after which they had to take shelter in a sarai of a religious place. He said, “The family was searching for a house when they met one Nisha (the alleged pimp), who used to come to the shrine and mingle with his family members.” Nisha took his wife Rajinder and daughter to the residence of her mother-in-law in the Johra Phatak area from where Rajinder and the old lady went to another area to check a house available on rent. However, when Rajinder returned she found her daughter and Nisha missing from the Johra Phatak residence. The mother-in-law said Nisha had taken her daughter for some work and she would be dropped at their house as soon as they return. He alleged even after two days when his daughter did not return they informed the Galliara police which failed to take any action on their complaint. In the mean time, when the alleged culprits came to know about this, they dropped the girl near the shrine who later told her miseries to the family. Meanwhile, SP (Headquarter) Surinder Singh Sidhu said the case has been referred to Harmanjit Singh, in charge, Galliara police station, for necessary action. When contacted, Harmanjit Singh said the family was yet to file any complaint to the police. Subscriber ‘detains’ BSNL official for leaking call details
Jalandhar, August 22 The incident occurred when the SDE, posted at Kapurthala, moved an application to the Public Relation Officer (PRO) seeking call details of a phone number owned by Indu Puri, a local subscriber. A woman employee of the PRO office was quick to inform the subscriber that someone wanted the call details of her mobile phone. Receiving the information, the subscriber, along with a dozen men, reached the venue and ‘detained’ the officer and his driver for almost an hour. Talking to The Tribune, SDE Mehanga Singh claimed that he had forwarded the application that had been handed over to him by his colleague, named Veena. He claimed that Veena had sought his help in getting the details of her friend’s mobile phone. “I was not aware of the fact if Veena had sought the details of the mobile phone with wrong intention. I moved the application to the PRO in good faith,” he claimed. Meanwhile, Ashwani Puri, brother-in-law of Indu Puri, who has been using the mobile phone, claimed he had moved an application to the office of the PRO on August 8, apprehending that someone was either trying to tap his phone or seek details from the office of the BSNL with a bad intension. Puri claimed that the officer was seeking details of his phone on a fake application, having forged signature of the actual subscriber. He claimed an application has been moved to the top officials of the BSNL and the police authorities, seeking legal action against the erring officer. |
