Politics of vendetta in full swing, says PPCC chief
Jalandhar, November 4 PPCC Chief Rajinder Kaur Bhattal alleged that more officers would try to go out of the state till the present regime was in power. They are apprehensive that they will be targeted for their proximity to the Congress, and punished. Bhattal, who was in town to take part in the bhog ceremony of late Darshan Singh Kaypee, said though the government was denying that party leaders and workers were being framed in false cases all over the state, it is a common secret that the babus are resenting the intense political interference in the smooth functioning of their departments. “The less said about the policies of the government the better,” said Bhattal adding that “Now the people have started realizing their folly by voting for
the alliance.” Commenting on the cases being foisted on party workers, she said they would soon release a white paper. A committee is looking into all aspects and is expected to submit its report soon,
she said. Commenting on the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, she said the government is adopting a cavalier attitude that does not augur well for the future of the state. A spate of robberies and dacoities in the state are an indicator of the jungle rule that prevails in Punjab,
she added. She said steps were afoot to rejuvenate the rank and file of the party. The opinion of the workers and senior leaders was being ascertained in this context, she said. Bhattal said the poor sections were the worst hit since the government was not able to foot the bill of old age and widow pensions. Employees too had not been paid for the past few months, she added. Others present on the occasion included PPCC executive chief Mohinder Singh Kaypee, MP Rana Gurjit Singh, Iqbal Singh, MLA A S Samra, Avtar Henry,
Lal Singh and Malkit Singh Birmi. |
