Lab staff fume, authorities fret and patients fear the worst
December 18 protest unwarranted, says Director
Chandigarh, December 12
Its a threat that is scaring the 1500-odd very sick patients admitted to the PGIMER and thousands of others who visit the hospital everyday.
Come December 18 and PGI medical technologists, a critical part of the hospital
services, will proceed on mass casual leave to press for acceptance of their
demands, holding patients and their relatives to ransom and bringing crucial
services to a grinding halt.

Horse trading: BJP wants MC chief sacked

Joining issue with dissident Congress councillors after yesterday's expose, the Bharatiya Janta Party today sought a CBI inquiry into horse trading charges against MC president's husband, Mr Kulwant Gill.

CTU staff divided over Dec 14 strike
Chandigarh, December 12
Employees of the Chandigarh Transport Undertaking are divided over the issue of joining the December 14 nationwide strike.
The Chandigarh Government Transport Workers Union today held a rally
outside the office of the Director Transport, Phase I, Industrial Area,
and urged employees to observe a nationwide strike on Dec 14.
Roadways staff protest against GM’s behaviour

Members of Haryana Roadways Workers Union held a protest outside The Tribune building this evening.
They were carrying torches and placards in their hands and were raising slogans
against the alleged dictatorial attitude of the General Manager of the

Officials unperturbed over fire threat

Huge piles of scrap paper and wood adjacent to the wall of a power sub station in Sector 34, is a perfect setting for a major accidental fire. Officials of the electricity department, seem unperturbed about the issue, much to the fury of the residents.

Flights, trains running late
Chandigarh, December 12
Heavy fog delayed flights and trains coming to the city today. While two of the flights coming to the city were cancelled, the Indian airlines flight arrived two hours late. However, trains departing from the city were on time.
Scooter, car rally by newspaper employees

On a call given by the All-India Newspaper Employees Federation, the Confederation of Newspaper and News Agency Employees Organisation, Chandigarh, is organising a scooter and car rally on December 14.
