Online banking: The State Bank of Patiala’s main branch in Kalka has started online banking. Mr S.C. Dhall, branch head of the bank, said customers could now open their account and use internet banking by taking their pin code from the branch.

Relief for crops soon: Compensation for last year’s flood-damaged crops in Bond Kalan and Bond Khurd villages in the district will soon be distributed. Informing this here on Thursday, the Deputy Commissioner, Mr Mahender Kumar, said crop on 1597 acre had been damaged due to water in 2005-2006.

Doctor booked: The city police has booked a doctor after the death of a 3-month-old infant at his nursing home, situated on the GT Road near Gohana Chowk, here on Thursday. According to Veena Rani, the mother of the deceased, Vansh, the baby was admitted to the nursing home after complications of dysentery.
