Heat wave conditions continue to prevail in some parts of west Rajasthan.
Rainfall:
Rain/thundershowers have occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, at many places in Punjab and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Haryana and east Rajasthan and at isolated places in west Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather was dry in the rest of the region.
The chief amounts of rainflal in cms are:
Haryana: Bhiwani and Sirsa 1 each; Himachal: Berthin 7, Dharamsala 6, Kangra and Nadaun 4 each, Dehra
Gopipur, Guler, Jogindernagar and Nalagarh 3 each, Karsog, Kandaghat and Shimla 2 each and
Kahu, Kasol, Nagrota Surian, Solan and Sundernagar 1 each; Jammu and Kashmir: Batote and Katra 2 each and
Banihal, Jammu and Srinagar 1 each; and Punjab: Nangal 3, Muktsar 2 and Gurdaspur, Nawanshahr and Raya 1 each.
Temperatures:
Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperature rose markedly in east Uttar Pradesh, rose in west Rajasthan, fell in Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere.
Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, above normal in Himachal Pradesh and west Rajasthan, appreciably below normal in Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, below normal in Haryana and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 45.6C recorded at Churu.
