Departure: They were markedly above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, appreciably above normal in Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Himachal Pradesh, appreciably below normal in east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 47.8°C recorded at Sriganganagar (Rajasthan).
