Weather to remain dry in region New Delhi, November 30 Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures fell in west Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were below normal in Punjab and west Rajasthan, above normal in east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 3.3°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab). Forecast valid until the morning of December 2: Rain/snow is likely at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region. Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of December 2: Mainly clear sky. Mist in the morning. The minimum temperature will be around 10°C. Farmers weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of December 2: Sky will be mainly clear. Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change. Amritsar shivers at 3.3°C Chandigarh, November 30 The minimum in Amritsar registered one degree decline from yesterday. The Met Office here has predicted a further fall in the temperature in the city as well as in other parts of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh in the next 24 hours. Icy winds from the snow-capped peaks of the tribal district of Lahaul and Spiti swept across Himachal giving an indication of an ensuing coldwave. Snow in the higher reaches of the tribal districts and isolated moderate to light showers have been predicted in the hill state in the next 24 hours. In Punjab and Haryana, despite a fall in the night temperature, the day temperature remained normal. The minimum in Chandigarh was 8.7 degrees, one degree above normal. In Ludhiana, the minimum temperature fell by one degree and was registered at 7.4 degrees, one degree below normal. In Patiala, too, the minimum temperature fell by a degree and was recorded at 8.4 degrees, one degree below normal. In Himachal Pradesh Shimla recorded a minimum of 4.4 degrees, two degrees below normal, while Bhuntar in Kullu district registered a minimum of 4.2 degrees. Sundernagar, too, recorded a minimum of 4.2 degrees. In Haryana, Karnal was the coldest place at 8.8 degrees,one degree below normal. Hisar recorded a minimum of 10.6 degrees, three degrees above normal, while Ambala registered a minimum of 9.5 degrees, one degree above normal. Ground frost occurring in certain parts of Punjab and Haryana has been predicted in the next 48 hours.
