Naxals kill 9 abducted Sena men 
Central forces rushed to Jehanabad
Jehanabad, November 14
Nine members of the outlawed Ranvir Sena, private army of upper caste landlords, who were abducted during the massive attack by the CPI (Maoists) on Jehanabad district jail, were killed as 1,000 paramilitary personnel were rushed today to this town, besides two helicopters for air-dropping troops and surveillance.

4 killed in suicide attack on Srinagar security picket
Srinagar, November 14
Four persons including two civilians and two security force personnel were killed and 13 injured in a militants’ suicide attack on a security picket in the Lal Chowk area here this afternoon. Eyewitnesses and the police said that the attack was launched at 3-10 p.m. when militants hurled a grenade towards CRPF bunker located at the crossing.

Former ministers not vacating houses, SC told
New Delhi, November 14
The Union Urban Development Ministry has taken a tough stand in the Supreme Court on VIPs occupying government bungalows illegally in the capital, including by Bihar Governor Buta Singh, several former ministers in the NDA government, Congress, CPM, Akali Dal and Samajwadi Party leaders, saying despite notices, they had not taken steps to vacate the ministerial bungalows.

Passing English, maths made compulsory in Haryana

The Haryana Government has woken up to the importance of mathematics and English. Passing these subjects has been made compulsory to clear the examinations at the middle school and secondary level.

India and Pakistan today opened the fourth point on the Line of Control (LoC) for exchanging quake relief material in Mendhar sector in Poonch district.
