Dengue case confirmed
Chandigarh, November 10 According
to Dr Rajesh Kumar, Professor and Head, Department of Community Medicine, the reports of the patient have been sent to Dr SS Cheema, nodal officer for the surveillance of communicable diseases, in Chandigarh. With this the number of dengue cases in Chandigarh has risen to two. Earlier Shruti, a Sector 38 West resident, had also tested positive for dengue. Meanwhile, residents of Hallo Majra complained that no cleanliness drive had been launched in the area and stagnating water could be found at a number of places. Dr Cheema, however, could not be contacted for comments. |
Haryana thrash J&K
Panchkula, November 10 Resuming at overnight score of 101 for 8, Jammu and Kashmir lost Manik Gupta in the seventh over of the day being caught at short leg off Yugvendra Chahal at his individual score of 3. Thereafter Aditya Partap and last man Hardeep put some resistance together for around 30 minutes adding 20 runs for the last wicket. But that was not enough to overcome the well-knit web around the last man by Yugvendra who had the figures of 17-6-33-6. Rohit Dilwari was the other successful bowler with 3 for 52. Jammu and Kashmir innings folded at 139 runs. Now Haryana will take on Delhi in the next match from November 18 at Delhi. Brief scores: Jammu and Kshmir (Ist innings) 89 all out. SDO shifted for dereliction of duty
Chandigarh, November 10 The administration has also repatriated 18 employees of the Building Branch of the Enforcement Wing of the Estate Office. These officials will be sent back to their respective states of Punjab or Haryana on account of dissatisfactory job performance with their current assignments. A majority of them had overstayed in the UT against the expected norm of three years. The Central Vigilance Commission(CVC) in its guidelines has specifically said that officials engaged in public dealings or in other sensitive assignments can spend a maximum period of three years in the particular post. At least three draftsmen have been suspended, as against the prescribed norm of three years, a couple of whom had stayed for more than 15 years. The names of the suspended draftsmen include Mr Tajinder Arora, Mr Rajesh Kumar and Mr Darbara Ram. |
