Rainfall: Rain and thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were above normal in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 38.4°C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures fell in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were above normal in Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 16.2°C recorded at Ambala (Haryana).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 15: Rain/snow are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
