Businessman violates forest laws

In violation of the forest protection laws, a large chunk of forest land is allegedly being diverted for non-forest purposes in Karoran village by a Patiala-based businessman, related to a highly-placed officer in the Punjab Government. The site is located at a short distance from the controversial Forest Hill resort.
