Monsoon has been active in Haryana, Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh.

Rainfall: Rain thundershowers have occurred at most places in Haryana, Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh, at many places in Uttaranchal and at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather was dry in west Rajasthan. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Haryana: Kalka 4, Karnal 3 and Chandigarh and Delhi Ridge 1 each, Himachal Pradesh: Una 5, Nahan 2 and Kahu and Kasol 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Katra 2 and Jammu and Pahalgam 1 each, Punjab: Nangal 6,Ludhiana 2 and Amritsar, Patiala, Shahpurkandi and Tibri 1 each, east Uttar Pradesh: Katerniaghat 11, Basti 10, Ballia 8, Balmikinagar, Gomatia and Varanasi City 7 each, Elginbridge 6, Ayodhya, Jaunpurand Mukhlishpur 5 each, Bahraich, Bhinga and Shardanagar 3 each, Balrampur, Chillaghat, Ghazipur and Mirzapur 2 each and Allahabad, Bansi, Birdghat, Bhatpurwaghat, Kakardharighat, Khadda, Kanpur, Regoli and Sultanpur 1 ech, West Uttar Pradesh: Ankinghat 21, and Dabri and Hindon 1 each and Uttaranchal: Kalagarh 4, Hardwar 2 and Dehradun, Joshimath and Rishikesh 1 each.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 9: Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, north Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at a few places in the rest of the region.

Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, north Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.
