Mother seeks justice for son

Panchkula, July 25
A 23-year-old migrant labourer, Charan Singh, is dying a slow death at the PGI, Chandigarh. Critically injured Charan Singh was admitted to the hospital after being allegedly attacked by his employer and colleagues on March 27. Hailing from Bulandshahar in Uttar Pradesh, Charan Singh had sustained injuries on his spine, ankles and knees. Unable to move the lower part of his body, Charan Singh has been forced to pass the rest of his life on a stretcher. His mother, Ms Leela Wati and younger brother, Deep Chand, have been trying to save him for the past five months. Bedsores have developed on his back and lower parts of his body.

The Panchkula District Table Tennis Championships will be organised by the Panchkula District Table Tennis Association on August 6 and 7 at Manav Mangal School, Sector 11, Panchkula. Eviction notice to 166 residents
Panchkula, July 25
The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has served notices on 166 residents of Kharag Mangoli village and Old Panchkula for vacating the premises that have allegedly come up on HUDA land. A local court had earlier granted stay on the eviction of encroachers on HUDA land at Kharag Mangoli village. As many as 166 residents had moved the court, which in turn had restricted HUDA from evicting them, except as per the course of law.

PUDA gets tough, violators stand to lose sites
Mohali, July 25
Allottees of PUDA institutional sites who have violated the terms and conditions of allotment stand to lose their site. The authority today ordered intensive monitoring of institutional site allotments done over the years and in case violations of terms of allotment are discovered, resumption of these sites has also been ordered.
