Rainfall: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. Pahalgam has recorded 1 cm of rainfall.

Temperature: Past 24 hours' change: The maximum temperatures rose in Haryana and east Rajasthan, fell in Jammu and Kashmir and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: This was appreciably above normal in east Rajasthan, above normal in Haryana, west Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 46.2°C recorded at Jhalawar (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 19: Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Punjab and Uttaranchal. Isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Isolated thundersqualls are likely in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of May 19: Partly cloudy sky with dust haze with possibility of duststorm/thunderstorm in some areas. The maximum temperature will be around 42°C.
