A case under Section 302, IPC, has been registered here on a complaint of Sandip Kumar, son of the deceased. SCHEMES: In order to ensure all-round development of six blocks of the district situated close to the Indo-Pakistan border, the District Planning and Development Board has mooted various schemes to the tune of Rs 555.32 lakh which have been sent to the state government for approval. ARRESTED: The Mahilpur police has arrested Yudhvir Singh, son of Chambel Singh of Salempur, under Section 15, 61, 85 of the NDPS Act and seized 7.5 kg of poppy husk from him. The Garhshankar police also arrested Kirpal Chand of Denowal Khurd under the same sections and seized 10 kg of poppy husk from him.

ARRESTED: The police has arrested Ram Gopal, a resident of Dhaki area, here for allegedly forcing his wife to commit suicide and destroying evidence under Section 306-201 of the IPC.
Rakesh Sharma, a resident of Amritsar and brother of the victim, Sangita, alleged that his sister was married to the accused in 1991. They had two male children. The accused, who runs a grocery shop, had been forcing the victim to give him Rs 50,000 deposited with a private party.

CRUSHED: A shoe merchant of Goraya, Roop Lal, was crushed to death by a school bus near Goraya police station on the national highway on Monday. The deceased was going to his shop when the bus hit him. He died on the spot. The Goraya police has arrested the driver and impounded the vehicle.

killed: A couple of nearby Bilga village in Phillaur subdivision
was killed in a road accident near Haridwar on Monday night. According to reports received here on Tuesday morning, Sardul Duggal and his wife were going to Haridwar when their Maruti car was hit by a vehicle. Both husband and wife
