Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures rose in Punjab, fell markedly in west Uttar Pradesh, fell appreciably in east Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere.
Departures:
They were above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal, appreciably below normal in west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest maximum temperature in the region was 35.2°C recorded at Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh).

The minimum temperatures changed little.
Departures: They were appreciably above normal in Haryana, Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest minimum temperature in the plains was 12.2°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).
