Commissioners visit disputed sites
Panchkula, March 8 The commissioners were appointed by the court on March 4. Members of the EWS Welfare Society, Sector 15, had filed a civil suit in a local court, seeking stay on the construction work of a plot (no. 2974) in Sector 15, in the grounds that the plot was earmarked on one of the roads leading to the colony. The court had stayed construction by the allotee of the plot on February 23. The residents have been pleading that two metres of the road (total width is 3.6 metres) is being covered under the plot, and if construction is allowed, the road will be encroached on. ‘There are 6000 residents in the colony. If this road is blocked, there will be only one approach road to the colony, wchich is very narrow and cannot take the load of vehicluar traffic of the colony” said Mr Raj Kumar, President of the Association. The residents said that the 3.6 metre road is even marked in the lay out plan of the Sector. While demarcating the plots, the planners made some mistake in land demarcation and area of the road was incorporated in a plot. “When the EWS Colony was established, there were seven approach roads. We have two roads now, and closure of one road could lead to problems for the residents,” said Mr Sham Sunder, Vice-President of the Association. The two local commissioners, who have prepared the report, will submit it in the court of judicial magistrate, Ajay Aggarwal. |
