Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain/thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh. Weather was dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Bhang and Dhundhi 1 each and Uttaranchal: Mukteshwar 1.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell in Jammu and Kashmir and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were below normal in Punjab and Uttaranchal, above normal in Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 1.4°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 31: Rain/snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in Rajasthan.

Heavy rainfall warnings: Isolated heavy rain/snow is likely in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.
