One killed, four hurt in fog-related mishaps
Phagwara, January 7
In two separate accidents caused by poor visibility due to a thick blanket of fog, Umesh Yadav, (25), was today crushed to death on the GT Road under a vehicle near Chiheru
village. Yadav was a class IV employee in Lovely Institute Chiheru village.

Inquiry into UBDC scam reopened

The Gurdaspur police has reopened the inquiry into the multi-crore UBDC scam after government directions. The Punjab Government has now directed the Gurdaspur police to investigate the case on five charges.
