Uday Sharma and Namita Sharma were adjudged the best athletes among sub-junior boys and girls, respectively in the two-day 9th Annual Athletics Meet of the Bharatiya Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Udham Singh Nagar which concluded at its Kitchlu Nagar branch ground here today.

In the senior section, this honour was went to Maneet Sharma and Priya Bawa, respectively, while Raghav was named the best athlete in the junior boys section and Kamaldeep Kaur was declared the best among girl participants.

Mr Madan Mohan Vyas, Mr R.K. Gupta, Mr M.M. Bamba and Mr O.P. Sabharwal, members of the BVM Trust were among others present at the prize distribution function.

Results: 600 m (junior boys)- Rohit 1, Sidhant 2 and Deepak Sharma 3; 400 m- Simratpreet Singh 1, Sidhant 2 and Rohit 3; 200 m- Rajdeep Abbi 1, Simranpreet Singh 2 and Atul Gupta 3; 100 m- Simranpreet Singh 1, Rajdeep 2 and Raghav 3; Sack race- Rishav 1, Sahil Bawa 2 and Pritik Mohindra 3.

Ludhiana, December 22
Trials to select the Ludhiana volleyball teams (men and women) will be held at Guru Nanak Stadium on December 23 from 2 p.m. onwards.

According to Mr Raj Kumar, President, District Volleyball Association, the selected spikers will represent Ludhiana in the Punjab State Volleyball Championship scheduled to be conducted at Harinao, Faridkot from December 25 to 27.
