Outgoing Chandigarh Club executive indicted

The suspense regarding the results of the executive committee elections of Chandigarh Club is over. However, the controversy shrouding the admission of 461 members remains with the Company Law Board (CLB) indicting the previous executive body, including four re-elected members, for being party to the enrolment of members in contravention of rules.

Best Transport Squadron Trophy for
No 25 Squadron

Popularly known as Himalayan Eagles, the No. 25 Squadron has won twice in a row the trophy for the Best Transport Squadron of the Western Air Command.

Partial strike by DBA members
Chandigarh, November 26
A partial strike was observed today by members of the District Bar Association (DBA) in protest against the decision of the Punjab and Haryana High Court not declaring a holiday on Gurpurb.

Section 144 imposed
Chandigarh, November 26
Apprehending breach of peace in the city, the District Magistrate, Mr Arun Kumar, today imposed Section 144, CrPC, in sectors 1 to 12 and 26. This order, which came into force from midnight for a period of 60 days, prohibits the assembly of five or more persons, taking out processions, making speeches and raising slogans, sitting on dharnas and carrying lathis within sectors falling north of Madya Marg.
