Rally to create awareness about AIDS
Chandigarh, November 26 The rally was organised by the society for Education in Health and Allied Trainings (SEHAT), Mohali and the “Bharatiya Aazad Sanstha” in association with the State AIDS Control Society, UT. The rally was flagged off by Dr N.N. Pathak, Director of SEHAT. Earlier in the day, an on-the-spot painting competition and quiz competition were organised on the theme ‘HIV/AIDS’. Two feature films were also screened in the colony to spread the message. Project coordinator, Chand Singh Madaan said another march and a medical-cum-health camp would be organised in the colony on Monday. |

Athletics meet at Bhanu concludes
Chandigarh, November 26 Rajiv Singh of 7 Bn. was declared the best athlete of the meet. The players who got first, second and third positions were given awards, while the best athlete award and shield of the year were distributed by the chief guest. Mr P.C. Devgun, Navi excel for St Kabir
Panchkula, November 26 St Kabir-26 batted first and piled up 239 for 5 in allotted 25 overs. Navi Bansal flayed the Saupins School bowlers to complete his century. His unbeaten knock of 106 came off 57 balls and contained 16 fours and one six. Shubham Sachdeva made a useful contribution of 51 runs. Saupins School batsmen were at sea against medium pacer Kanav Devgun who claimed five wickets for just eight runs. Sarabhjot got 3 for 10 and Gunjit Madra got two for six as Saupins were bundled out for just 55 runs in 15 overs. Brief scores: St Kabir-26: 239 for 5 in 25 overs (Navi Bansal 106 not out, Shubham Sachdeva 51, Suraj 2 for 35); and Saupins School, Panchkula,: 55 all out in 15 overs (Kanav Devgun 5 for 8, Sarabhjot 3 for 10, Gunjit Madra 2 for 6).
