Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Temperature: past 24-hour change: Maximum temperatures changed little.

Departures: These were above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and east Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 38.1°C recorded at Sriganganagar (Rajasthan).

Past 24-hour change: Minimum temperatures fell in Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were appreciably above normal in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan, above normal in Himachal Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 18.2°C recorded at Amritsar.

Forecast valid until the morning of October 11: Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, at a few places in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and isolated places in the rest of the region.
