Ludhiana, September 24
“O diwar te likh gaye, deewar ne kiha Mathura chalo. O ishtiar chipka gaye, isthiar ne kiha, Dilli chalo. Kavita shiar kol aayee, ta shair ne kiha, apne aap kol aao, apne aap nu milo”. These lines penned by technocrat-cum-poet Jaswant Zafar flashed on the computer screen along with visuals The visuals were punctuated with music pieces.

Zafar’s presentation included“Kuch kavitavan iss taran”.He claims that this style is the first in any language.

Zafar presented some of his poem before friends and writers in Canada last month. His friends were all praise for the presentation. Six Canadian channels telecasted his presentation , while seven radio stations interviewed him.

When asked about inspiration, he replied: “I felt that the computer was taking over a major part of student’s time. The children were not reading books and culture of reading was vanishing rapidly. So I devised the way which reaches the children very effectively. Moreover, the writers too cannot ignore the technical developments in the era of information technology. Electronic media is not only meant for obscenity and consumerism and can be effectively used for literature”

The poet has made use of his photographs in visuals. Mr M. Dewan, Mr Navdeep Singh and Mr Vivek Singh have lent him technical assistance.
