Jammu, September 5
Four persons, including a police constable and a Hizbul Mujahideen militant, had been killed in separate militancy-related incidents in the Jammu region during the past 24 hours, official sources said.

The sources said militants ambushed a joint patrol of the police and Army at Bani in Kathua district yesterday killing an Army jawan, Mohammad Amin, and police constable, Pawan Kumar, on the spot.

In another incident, militants kidnapped Mohammad Farooq, 21, from a house at Dhara Sangla in Poonch district.

Farooq’s bullet-ridden body was recovered by the police from the Dhara Sangla forests today.

A Hizbul Mujahideen militant, Nazir, code Sadiq, was killed by security forces in an encounter at Lar Khour, Udhampur district, last night. — UNI

Seven of the 15 militants of the Lashkar-e-Toiba and the Jamiat-ul- Mujahideen, arrested in Anantnag district of Kashmir, who were produced before the media on Saturday. — PTI
