Two more murders, a day after a man was done to death by his wife and son, rocked the city today. In one incident, a woman was possibly raped and then murdered while in the other, a suspected drug dealer was hacked to death near Panjab University by another drug peddler.

A nightmare for night commuters

The two national highways passing through the district, Panchkula-Kalka-Shimla highway, and Panchkula-Naraingarh highway, are turning into a nightmare night commuters. Thanks to the Ministry of Surface Transport and National Highways, no funds have been released for either four laning/ widening of the highways, or for ensuring that proper illuminated road markings and retro-reflective sign boards are installed.

3 held for running fake currency racket
Chandigarh, June 15
An inter-state fake currency racket was busted here with the arrest of three persons here last night along with 40 fake currency notes of Rs 500 denomination. The gang is alleged to have duped about 25 persons of more than Rs 20 lakh, SHO Sanjay Jain told at a press conference here today.

Haryana’s former Ranji Trophy player Girish Bhanot visited KBDAV School in Sector 7 during a cricket workshop today. He gave bowling tips to young players. Students were also taught how to grip the ball and the art of spin. Tips on batting and fielding were also given.
