Free medical camp for fire victims

A two day free medical camp for Khud Mohalla fire victims was organised by the Department of Plastic and Microvascular Surgery of Christian Medical College and Hospital. Over 45 patients were examined on the first day of the camp. OC

Bhagat Singh and Dattu Club teams win

Ludhiana, May 14
Host Bhagat Singh Club and Dattu Club began their title hunt with convincing victories in the inaugural edition of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Memorial Night Cricket Tournament which began at the Dana Mandi ground near Jalandhar by-pass here last night. Bhagat Singh Club routed Sports Club by seven wickets while Dattu Club scripted a six-wicket win against Dana Mandi Club.

Earlier, Mr Gurinder Sood, president, Punjab Pradesh Panthers Party inaugurated the three-day tournament in which 16 teams are taking part. Scores: 1- Sports Club 63 in 10 overs (Minta Sood 20, Baba 18; Bhuvnesh 3 for 15 runs in four overs and Kittu 2 for 17 runs in three overs).

Bhagat Singh Club- 64 for 3 in 9 overs ( Kittu 20, Bhuvnesh 23; Mithun Gupta 2 for 25 in three overs and Kamal 1 for 20 in three overs).

Cricket trials: Trials to select cricket probables (under-19) will be held here at the Arya College for Boys ground on May 16 at 8.30 am.

Stating this, Mr Vinod Chitkara, general secretary, Ludhiana District Cricket Association (LDCA), said players born on or after September 1, 1985 were eligible for the trials. Those selected would be admitted to the Regional Coaching Centre, being run by the LDCA under the aegis of the Punjab Cricket Association, at the same venue.
