Cricket trophy for Mohali

Mohali won the coveted M.L. Markan Trophy in the Punjab State Inter-District Cricket Tournament (under-17), which concluded here today at the PCA stadium, Mohali. Earlier, resuming from its overnight score of 286 runs for the loss of five wickets, Mohali scored 399 runs. It was fine batting of Nikhil Dwivedi, who hammered 77 runs, followed by Ankush who made 28 runs, which consolidated their innings. In their second innings, Chandigarh were 48 for the loss of five wickets. Harneet again bowled well in this innings and captured three wickets for 15 runs, while Harman bagged two wickets for 22. Mohali were declared winners on the basis of their first innings lead.

Vivek High victorious

Vivek High School, Sector 38, boys outplayed St John’s High School, Sector 26 by five wickets in the UT Inter-School Cricket Tournament (under-10) played here last evening. Suryansh, who scored 45 runs, was adjudged the man of the match.
