These four ministers of Himachal Pradesh had levelled serious charges against Mr Shanta Kumar for committing irregularities in the trust donations. Mr Shanta Kumar said the VMERT was purely a non-political body and the Congress should not drag it into politics. He said thousands of persons from different sections of society and other organisations had donated money for this trust, and the Congress leaders should not hurt their sentiments.

He said the VMERT was an open chapter since it was being constructed with public money and it was a public asset. He denied the charges of the Congress leaders that he and his family members had overall control over the VMERT.

Meanwhile Mr G.S. Bali, Transport Minister, said he had accepted the invitation of Mr Shanta Kumar and would definitely visit the VMERT to see the accounts alongwith his supporters. On the other hand the Revenue Minister said the action of Mr Shanta Kumar was politically motivated.
