Patwaris to go on protest leave

The Apex Chamber of Commerce and Industry has suggested to set up an iron and steel regulatory commission to monitor the prices of steel in the country. The chamber pointed out, apart from steep hike in steel prices a new pattern has emerged. Prices change several times a day with a heavy difference. This volatility has ruined the steel consuming industrial units. Factors of production do not change so often, but the prices change on trading sentiments. This will ruin the steel using industry, it asserted.

AEPC expects apparel market to grow

PNB’s Punjab zone net profit up by 22 pc Ludhiana, April 16 Punjab National Bank(Punjab zone) earned a net profit of Rs 562 crore (pre-audited) as on March 31, 2004, as compared to Rs 462 crore in the corresponding period last year, thus registering an year-on-year growth of 22 per cent.
