PAU alumni meet
Ludhiana, March 17
It was a day of annual reunion for a dozen-odd students of 1951 batch of Punjab Agricultural University at the Parker House this morning.
Of the 12 members who were present at the meeting, three had come from overseas. Prof Beant S. Ahloowalia a technology consultant from Vienna. He retired as a scientist from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Prior to this, he was with the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO), Rome.
Juniors bid adieu to
final-year students
Ludhiana, March 17
MA Departments of Guru Nanak Girls College, Model Town, here hosted a farewell function. The highlight was a
modeling contest for MA final-year students.
Amandeep was declared Miss Farewell, while Sumandeep and Simarjot were the first and second runners-up. Gurpreet won the title of best-dressed student.
Students given roll of honour
Ludhiana, March 17
Nine students received roll of honour at the annual convocation held at the Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, here today. Dr S.S. Johl, Vice-Chairman of the Punjab State Planning Board was the chief guest.

Children take part in colouring contest
Ludhiana, March 17
A total of 120 children participated in a colouring contest at Cherryfields Nursery School, Atam Nagar, here today.
The participants were given sheets from HDFC bank on which outlines of animals and flowers had been printed.
