Not confident on Muslim turf, Goel moves to Sadar

The Union Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs Vijay Goel today officially moved to the Delhi Sadar constituency to contest elections, leaving the Chandni Chowk seat vacant. Goel had been elected to the Lok Sabha from the Sadar constituency in 1996, when he defeated the Congress leader Jagdish Tytler.

5 lakh fail to make it to Capital’s electoral list
New Delhi, March 14
Amid recriminations over bogus voters, nearly five lakh applicants in Delhi have failed to make it to the electoral list, updated for the coming Lok Sabha polls here. Cumbersome paper work, leading to mistakes in filling of forms by the applicants, is the main reason for keeping this large chunk of potential voters out of the electoral exercise, sources in the Election Commission said.

The North district police claimed to have arrested three pickpockets of the Suresh Pahari gang, including the gang leader, who used to target innocent passengers travelling in buses and also at bus stands.
