Youth Congress recommends candidates
Our Correspondent

Hisar, February 14
Mr Randeep Singh Surjewala, president of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC), today said that he had recommended names from the youth wing to the Congress high command for ticket. He was talking to mediapersons at the Congress Bhavan here. He did not divulge the details of names and the number of candidates but indicated that he had included youth leaders from every state. He hoped that the party high command would give suitable representation to the youth wing. He said he would contest the elections if the party gave him ticket.

He alleged that the INLD and the BJP were two faces of the same coin. He said the BJP president, Mr Venkaiah Naidu, and two senior ministers of the NDA government, Mr Raj Nath Singh and Mr Sahib Singh Verma, had made serious allegations against the Chief Minister, Mr Om Prakash Chautala, regarding corruption in the recent Gohana rally. They had alleged that Mr Chautala had made crores through wrong means during the past four years. If the allegations were true the NDA government should have taken action against Mr Chautala.

He said Mr Chautala on the other hand had alleged that the NDA government had not provided any development funds to Haryana during the past four years. If it was true why had five INLD MPs supported the NDA government at the centre for the past four years.

He said though Mr Chautala was criticising the NDA government for misusing government funds on advertisements listing its achievements, his own government had misused Rs 300 crore on hoardings for the same purpose during the past four years, he alleged.
