DIET undertakes educational projects

The Principal of the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Jagraon, Ms Usha Sidhu, has undertaken two special projects under the total quality management programme to promote academic excellence and
beautify the campus. The first project deals with effectiveness of students' teaching practice (TP) better known as School Experience Programme (SEP).The project has been undertaken under the guidelines of the Punjab State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Chandigarh. All boy and girl students of the IInd year, fourth semester of the ETT course will have to teach english, punjabi, science, social studies, art and health education to elementary classes of government schools under the supervision of the DIET faculty. The second project deals with the beautification of the campus. About 150 students have been allocated specific areas or classrooms which they will have to clean regularly, plant
flowers, saplings and irrigate them regularly. The class rooms have also been decorated with charts and posters. Prof Baldev Singh, media in-charge of the DIET, while addressing a press conference remarked that with the beautification project had received appreciation from all staff members, students and local people.
