ICICI bank robbery: Main accused,
girlfriend held

The police claims to have cracked the ICICI bank dacoity case, 29 months after it rocked the national Capital in July 2001, with the arrest of the main accused and his girlfriend from Najafgarh area of South-West Delhi. A sum of Rs two crore was then robbed from the Brinks Arya security van

IAF corporal held for rape
Gurgaon, December 2
An Indian Air Force corporal was today arrested for allegedly raping his maidservant. The accused, Anup Pathak, was posted at the local Air Force station. According to the police, the maid, who hails from Chhattisgarh, took employment at Anup’s residence four days back. She was employed through an agency based in Delhi.

Increasing incidence of thefts worries residents
SONEPAT: Thieves are once again active in and around Sonepat, thanks to the failure of the police to check the increasing incidence of thefts during the past few months. According to a report, thieves reportedly entered the shop of Girdhar Traders on the Tarana road near the bus stand here on Sunday night and escaped with sanitary goods worth about Rs 1 lakh and Rs 5,000.

The Kharkhauda police have recovered the body of an unidentified woman found floating in a pond at Pai village, about 15 km from here yesterday. According to a report, the body remains unidentified and has been sent to the local civil hospital for the postmortem examination.

2 chain snatchers caught red-handed

The West district police claimed to have arrested two chain snatchers while they were trying to escape after committing the crime. The accused who were identified as Anil alias Bunty (20) and Sandeep (19), both residents of Mangolpuri, were trying to escape in a Yamaha motorcycle after snatching a gold chain from one Chanchal Chugh, resident of Chander Vihar.
